Tamagotchi Factory

Japan’s most famous digital pet has a shiny new home in Harajuku.

The official Tamagotchi store, Tamagotchi Factory, opened in late 2025 — and you can find it on the third floor of Tokyu Plaza Harajuku Harakado.

What to expect

A collaboration between Bandai and BookLive, this space aims to be more than a shop — it’s a whole “factory” experience where visitors can customize goods and join interactive activities. Add this to your list of things to do at Harakado.

Step inside and you’ll find staff dressed like factory workers, a bright, playful interior decorated with pastel-colored, animated factory motifs that make you feel like part of a tiny Tamagotchi production line, and over 100 official Tamagotchi items, including exclusive merch. There’s also a fill-your-own Tamagotchi experience, with tiny figurine and a make-your-own keychain workshop.

Interact with the Tamagotchi world as well by pushing the big button and watching the factory workers take a break from their long day of work. If you’re lucky, you might even get the chance to meet some of the characters as they sometimes come to surprise shoppers.

How to get there

The nearest station to Harakado is Meiji-Jingumae ‘Harajuku’ Station (on the Chiyoda Line). Take Exit 6 and you’ll be right outside the entrance to Harakado.
