Tenzan Onsen is highly regarded for its diverse range of baths and extensive facilities. In addition to the standard indoor baths and showers, it features multiple rotenburo, or outdoor baths. The largest bath in the women’s area includes a small cave, offering a unique spot for prayer or relaxation.

A smaller bath offers a higher temperature, complemented by a nearby cold-water bath. To maximize your hot spring experience, alternating between these hot and cold baths is recommended. If the temperature becomes overwhelming, seating areas are available to help you cool down.

To reach Tenzan Onsen, you have two primary options. You can drive from Tokyo, which takes about an hour and a half, or use public transportation. The latter involves taking the Romancecar limited express train from Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto Station, followed by the K bus.

For entry into Tenzan Onsen, the main area costs ¥1,450 for adults and ¥700 for children. However, if you’re visiting for the first time, it’s recommended to focus on the main area, as the smaller annex area may not offer as much value.
