One of the more impressive architectural feats of the Olympics, the Aquatics Center hosted the diving, swimming and artistic swimming competitions at the Tokyo 2020 games.
The building has been praised for its unusual construction method in which the large roof was constructed on the ground and then raised into place. Completed in Spring 2019, there is an impressive time-lapse of the raising of the enormous roof.
Now that the Olympics are over, the center will become a community leisure center with goals of over a million visitors a year.
