Toneri Park is one of the city’s largest public parks — but it feels refreshingly low-key compared to major parks in central Tokyo.

Having opened in 1981, Toneri Park spans over 60 hectares and offers a little bit of everything: wide lawns, shaded walking paths, seasonal flower gardens, and well-equipped areas for picnics and barbecues. There’s also a dedicated play zone for kids.

In spring, cherry blossoms line parts of the park, and in early summer, visitors flock here to witness the sea of blue nemophila flowers. There are many other seasonal blooms to look forward to throughout the year.
