Opened in 1972, the Ueno Royal Museum is a fine art museum that regularly hosts traveling exhibitions from the collections of some of the world’s leading museums.
The museum is actually quite small, so when popular international exhibitions open, the crowds can be oppressive and the experience like being herded around a busy train station.
The price of admission depends on the current exhibition, but there are discounts for all types of students.
