A laid-back standing wine bar and bistro on Nakano’s Rengazaka street, Vivo Daily Stand is one of those rare spots that works as a morning coffee stop and a late-night drink destination in equal measure. The deal that makes it worth a visit: one deli dish and two drinks for around 1,500 yen — solid value by any measure, and especially impressive given the quality of the French-influenced small plates on offer.
Note that the Nakano branch is cashless only — card or QR code payments, no cash. The bar has a community-focused feel with a local crowd, a welcome contrast to the tourist-heavy bars around bigger stations nearby.
