Japanese Tea Kimikura

Japanese Tea Kimikura, rated the best matcha spot at Haneda Airport (on Google Maps), definitely lives up to the hype. With its high-quality tea, primarily sourced from Shizuoka, this concession gives visitors the chance to travel through tea before jetting off elsewhere in the world.

What is Japanese Tea Kimikura?

The menu features a carefully curated selection of teas. For something simple, there’s matcha, hojicha, and today’s green tea — served hot or iced, with prices ranging from ¥500 to ¥600.

The recommended item, however, is the matcha latte, also available hot or iced for ¥700. This is what we sampled, and it was basically perfect — on the sweeter side, but not overly so. We also got to watch as they whisked the matcha and could smell its strong aroma, which added a nice touch to the experience.

Note: there is also a hojicha alternative, as well as the option to have oat milk for an additional ¥100.

If that’s not enough, there are also seasonal drinks. During our spring visit, the featured drink was a cherry blossom matcha latte (¥800). For something lighter, there’s also matcha soda (¥680). Matcha ice cream is available as well for ¥450.

If you’d like to take the tea home, you can — matcha powder and other tea products are sold at the store.

What to know before you visit Japanese Tea Kimikura

Do you need reservations for Japanese Tea Kimikura?

There’s no seating area — it simply offers takeout and doubles as a store selling matcha-related products. Hoever, there are some benches near the store and throughout Haneda Airport Garden, so you can definitely find somewhere to sit and sip your last cup of matcha on your trip.
