Founded in 1880, Kamiya Bar is Japan’s oldest Western-style bar and a true Asakusa institution.
The star here is Denki Bran or electric brandy, a slightly sweet, herbal mix of spirits with a potent kick, often paired with beer.
The first floor is home to a bar frequented by locals, with long tables and a communal feel. On the second floor, you’ll find a Western-style Japanese restaurant with a more family-friendly atmosphere. The third floor offers a more formal Japanese dining experience.
The main building is a Registered Tangible Cultural Property.
