With over 260 years in business, Kyo Hayashiya is a renowned tea shop rooted in Kyoto, Japan’s tea capital. With locations throughout Japan, its Sogo Yokohama store makes the perfect stop after shopping for a great cup of matcha.

What’s Kyo Hayashiya (Sogo Yokohama)?

On the menu, you can expect to find a good selection of teas and desserts. Kyo Hayashiya’s matcha and gyokuro is all sourced direct from Uji, making it the highest quality.

The drinks are mainly served in a traditional way, with only one iced option. Prices range from ¥660 to ¥800.

For desserts, you can enjoy seasonal, and of course matcha, parfaits. There are also more traditional desserts like anmitsu and kakigori shaved ice. Prices start from around ¥1,500 and go up to nearly ¥3,000 (for the seasonal desserts and drink set).
