Saryo Tsujiri is one of two Tokyo outposts of Gion Tsujiri, a renowned tea company from Kyoto.
What is Saryo Tsujiri?

Saryo Tsujiri does its best to transport you to the alleyways of Kyoto — via Tokyo’s business district. Decorated with paintings of maiko and bay windows from which to take in views of skyscrapers and the busy streets below, this is a favorite spot for desserts such as parfait and anmitsu, and a variety of Japanese tea beverages.
When you’re seated, you’ll be served complimentary warm hōjicha. Recommended items include the matcha latte, or for a swift ascent to matcha heaven, try the extra matcha matcha milk. The latter comes in DIY form: a saucer of sweetened matcha syrup, a bowl of hand-whisked usucha, and a cup of milk with pebbles of matcha ice, all for you to mix and sip as you go.
Each parfait, piled high with homemade jellies, ice cream, and sometimes mochi, is a meal in itself. For concentrated matcha flavor, the Uji Parfait — named for one of Kyoto’s premier matcha-growing regions — is a solid pick.
“Personally, I love matcha so I have no trouble polishing off our signature Tokusen Tsujiri Parfait,” said staff member Yoko Kobayashi with a grin. “Many of our customers also enjoy the Suigyoku Parfait, which is a bit smaller and also includes hōjicha (roasted green tea) jelly.”
If you want to pick up matcha and other teas, Saryo Tsujiri also has a small shop. Note that matcha purchases are currently limited.
