Tiny Tea & Bar

Tiny Tea & Bar is part of a larger concept that combines a café and an in-house bakery. While the breakfast buffet takes place in the café space, the bread itself comes from Bread & Cake, the bakery next door, where everything is baked from scratch.

What is Tiny Tea & Bar?

The bakery offers more than 100 varieties of bread, including both sweet and savory options, with some recipes developed in collaboration with Italian and Japanese chefs. Seasonal cakes are also available for those with a sweet tooth.

During the day, Tiny Tea & Bar serves breakfast and lunch featuring fresh ingredients alongside the bakery’s bread, before transitioning into a relaxed bar in the evening. The result is an all-day spot that works just as well for a morning coffee and pastry as it does for an after-work drink.

For ¥1,793, you get 90 minutes of unlimited bread from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (last order at 10:30 a.m.). The selection includes a mix of sweet and savory breads, from pastries to garlic bread and focaccia.

One thing to note is that the bakery doesn’t continuously bake new batches during breakfast service. What you see at 9 a.m. is generally what you’ll have for the rest of the morning, and once a particular bread is gone, it’s gone.

What to know before you visit Tiny Tea & Bar

I arrived around 9:15 a.m. and most of the selection was still available, but a few items were already running low. One of the highlights was a baguette topped with garlic sauce, but there had only been a single loaf available, and by the time I got there only a few pieces remained.

If you want the best chance of trying everything on offer, arriving as close to opening time as possible is probably your best bet.

The buffet includes a breakfast plate with soup, salad, prosciutto (nama ham), and a boiled egg served with sauce. Staff will also ask if you’d like freshly baked focaccia, which can be used to make your own sandwich with the ingredients from the breakfast plate.

Drinks are included as well, with self-serve coffee and tea available throughout your visit, both hot and iced.

Do you need reservations for Tiny Tea & Bar?

Reservations are highly recommended. Walk-ins are accepted if space is available, but during my visit I saw several people turned away because the restaurant was already full. You can make a reservation online through TableCheck.
