Located a few minutes from Ōimachi Station and perched on the second floor, Zeniba Seinikuten offers a stylish yakiniku experience for a reasonable price.

What’s Zeniba Seinikuten Ōimachi?

Part of the Zeniba group known for its premium wagyu, this Ōimachi branch focuses on A5-grade Japanese black beef, sourced from female cattle prized for their rich flavor and tenderness.

Instead of standard charcoal grills, at Zeniba, you get to grill your meat on lava rock plates from the Mount Fuji area. The goal: to ensure the meat sears evenly while staying juicy, with none of the unpleasant flavors that might come with smoke.

Popular menu items include the signature wagyu hamburg steak and wagyu yakiniku sets. The “Zeniba Course” lets you sample different cuts at once, ideal if you want variety.

On our visit, we received an otoshi (table charge) of warming beef stew (¥492 including tax), and tried the garlic rice, an assorted kimchi platter, and a yakiniku set featuring eight different cuts, including pork, for a little over ¥2,000. The portion felt generous for the price, and the staff were also happy to grill the meat for us.

The atmosphere feels both upscale and relaxed, with modern interiors, softly lit tables, and some private booths ideal for larger groups (for an added fee of ¥550 per person).
