Google Japan opened the “Google Store Omotesando” on August 13, 2026. Spanning three levels of the Tokyu Plaza Omotesando “Omokado” complex, the new location marks Google’s first standalone brick-and-mortar retail shop outside the United States.
A bit of history — Google actually opened its first-ever international office in Tokyo back in 2001. The tech giant, whose Japan HQ spans floors 14 through 35 of the Shibuya Stream complex, regards Tokyo as the root of its global journey and describes this local retail expansion as an exciting next step. The Google Store Omotesando is the 11th dedicated Google store, with the remaining 10 all in the U.S. The store is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
