Meiji Jingu Gaien Fireworks Festival

7:30pm – 8:30pm

The Jingu Gaien Fireworks Festival is the most urban and hence accessible of the Tokyo fireworks festivals.

What happens?

Approximately 10,000 fireworks will be hurled into the air over a paying audience within Jingu Stadium or the Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium.

Alternatively, you can set yourself up anywhere within a 1-kilometer radius for free and hope for a reasonable view. As the festival doesn’t take place over water, the fireworks don’t reach the same altitude as many of the other large festivals, so you may be disappointed. This year, there will also be musical acts.

The festival will be rescheduled for the following day if it’s raining.

Tickets

Ticket prices for 2024 start from ¥7,000. Seats will be in either Jingu Stadium or Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium. Last year, the surrounding roads were heavily regulated and restricted in some places. Musical performances start at 5:30 p.m. before the fireworks at 7:30 p.m.

Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
