The Tokyo Foreign Studies University (Tokyo Gaigo Daigaku) in Fuchu have their Gaigosai festival each year from mid- to late November.
What happens?
The student organizers promise “a tour around the world without the need for a passport”. Although if you like to drink, they’ve also issued an ‘alcohol passport’ in the past — definitely sounds like more fun than a trip to immigration in Shinagawa.
Restaurants will be held again this year, so you’ll be able to find cuisine from all over the world, but you will be required to eat and drink in a designated space.
First-year students will be manning the stalls, while second-year students will be performing foreign-language plays using the language in which they are majoring.
Closest station is Tama Station on the Seibu Tamagawa Line.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
