Drums are a part of every traditional Japanese festival, and they’re loved for a reason. Listen to the beats hit the street at the Asakusa Kokusai Street Beat Festival.
What to expect
The Asakusa Kokusai Street Beat Festival celebrates Eisa, a folk dance from Okinawa. Several volunteer groups will parade the street, dancing and banging on drums. You can also see the Ryukyu Dance Troupe perform in a parade and on stage with flawless choreography.
Schedule 2025
The main parade, where all performers come together for one big group show, will start at 1:10 p.m. from the store Miyamoto Unosuke Shoten. The stage will be set up on the second floor of Asakusa View Hotel.

How to get there
The event will be held outside Miyamoto Unosuke Shoten and the Asakusa View hotel, a 2-minute walk from Asakusa Station. You can also walk from Tamaramachi Station on the Tokyo Ginza Line, which is 5 minutes away.
