This is a Belgian beer extravaganza in the heart of Tokyo.
What happens?
While not the cheapest event on our list, for ¥3,700 (advanced ticket) you get an original Belgian Beer Weekend glass to keep and the ability to choose from dozens of strong Belgian beers.
How does it work?
You will need to purchase the Starter Kit (¥3,700 in advance; ¥3,990 on the door) before you start knocking back the pints. The Starter Kit will give you a unique glass — your companion for the festival — and 13 tokens. These tokens are then exchanged at the various stalls for the beer of your choice. One beer will cost you between two and three tokens, so choose wisely.
How to get there
The Shinjuku Belgian Beer Weekend will be held at Shinjuku Sumitomo Building Sankaku Hiroba (2-6-1 Nishishinjuku, Shinjuku City, Tokyo). The nearest station is Tochomae or Nishi-Shinjuku.
