Berlin is a live music event that takes place every Thursday at Ruby Room in Shibuya. It has been running for an amazing 10 years in Tokyo.
The event is completely free; there is no entrance charge. The event starts at 7 p.m. and goes till 1:00 a.m. or later (depending on the DJs and staff). Everyone’s welcome.
Lineup
On Thursday, June 15, the special guest band Snailmate from the US will be playing. This genderfluid synthpunk/nerd rap duo lights up the stage with their unique sound and quirky yet witty lyrics. And what’s more is that they are hot sauce enthusiasts and regularly review different types of sauce in their reel series Hot Sauce For Blood. Check it out on their Instagram.
Local funky indie band Hundora is also on the bill plus guest DJ Tequila Ayana and the Berlin Party resident DJs. The DJs play mixed genres but all good music. You can always expect techno later in the night too.
What else happens?
So, as you can sometimes find at Berlin Party, there will be mushroom tacos and fiery hot sauce, all handmade, all vegan, from Kinoko Tacos Douzo! In addition, there will be some commercial bottles of hot sauce to challenge as well.
