What happens?
This annual festival is run by volunteer whisky lovers and showcases the passion of makers around Japan. Bars and brewers, both Japanese and international, offer tastings of their favorite unique brews. Check out everything from classics done right to wild and wicked flavored whiskies. For one afternoon, you can try, buy, and lose yourself in a whisky wonderland.

Tickets for the event set you back ¥5,500 in advance.
People in Japan can purchase them through Eplus, whereas overseas visitors have another dedicated site to buy from. The organizers say they will be checking passports to confirm residency.
How to get there
The Chichibu Whisky Festival will be held at Chichibu Shrine. The shrine is about a 15-minute walk from Seibu-Chichibu Station, which you can get to by taking the Seibu Ikebukuro Line from Ikebukuro Station. The trip will take you about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
