You’ll find all kinds of environmental NPOs and charities, including plenty you may not even know exist in Tokyo, sharing their work and welcoming new supporters at Earth Day Tokyo.

Earth Day Tokyo is ALSO known for its zero-waste approach, reusable tableware, and renewable energy use on site. Inclusivity is also a growing focus, with spaces designed so families and children of different abilities can take part comfortably.
In 2025, the festival drew around 80,000 visitors over two days.

The theme for Earth Day Tokyo 2026 is “Spring Global Culture Festival”, focusing on youth-led action and connections for a more sustainable future.
Earth Day is actually on April 22, but the main festival days will are April 18 to 19 in 2026.
