Gotenyama has been a much loved cherry blossom viewing spot since the Edo period.
What happens?
Each year the famous and yearly cherry blossom festival is held.
In addition to the blooms, there are usually illuminations and other smaller events and paid workshops to look forward to.

Schedule 2026
- March 27 to April 5: A special cherry blossom illumination from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Gotenyama Trust City)
- March 28 to 29: Live painting from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- March 28 to 29, and April 4 to 5: Edo glass-cutting workshop from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed between 1 and 2 p.m.); ¥800 per person
- April 4 to 5: Japanese book-binding experience (11 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 to 2 p.m., and 4 to 5 p.m.); ¥700 per person
How to get to Gotenyama Cherry Blossom Festival
To get to Gotenyama Cherry Blossom Festival, take the JR Yamanote line to Shinagawa Station. You can then either take the free shuttle bus from Takanawaguchi bus stop or walk 10 minutes.
