In preparation for the opening of the new Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, Kabukicho will be putting on a party with free live performances, a mikoshi (portable shrine) procession, and outdoor movie festival.
While the signs around Kabukicho will be blue for the whole month of April, the main festivities will happen on April 15 to 16. There will be a special stage set up on the east side of the new building and in Cine City Square.

April 15
13:00–14:30: Live music, featuring Charan Po Lantern, Appare!, and UCARY & THE VALENTINE.
15:00-15:40: Comedy show.
16:00-17:00: Marching band performance.
18:00-20:30: Cinema night, screening of “New Cinema Paradise”.
April 16
12:00-13:15: Mikoshi procession starting from Cine City Square.
14:00-14:40: Comedy show.
15:00-16:30: Special live music performances, featuring KIMIKA, Hikari Ichika, and YuMe.
18:00-20:00: Music night event, featuring Shunichi Tanabe, Satoshi Sakiyama, and DJ Kazu — tickets needed. Register for free here.
