Kagurazaka’s annual fall festival is a more than two-week bonanza that includes a bunch of fun and free cultural events.
What happens?
Festivities in past years have included tea ceremonies, concerts, Awa Odori dancing, alpacas, and the Bake Neko Festival.

- On October 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., local artists will show off their artworks, with visitors invited to vote for their favourite works.
- Autumn Awa Odori will take place on October 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. Local dance groups will join forces to perform the traditional dance along Kagurazaka Street.
- Take part in a tea ceremony on November 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bishamonten Temple. Enjoy tea and sweets, learn basic etiquette, and try making your own tea. Participation is ¥1,000 and no reservations are needed.
- Another arty event, on November 3 from noon to 3:30 p.m. Kagurazaka’s streets will be covered in paper for free community activity Drawing on a Hill. Anyone can join in.
- Nakamachi Library will host a Book Recycling Market on weekends and holidays from October 11 to November 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
