The Go-Go Run/Walk Challenge 2024 is now open for entries.
What is KIWL?
Knights In White Lycra (KIWL) is a Japan-based voluntary organization that does charity fundraising for disadvantaged kids in Japan through participatory sports events such as cycling, running, and golf.
What happens?
The KIWL Go-Go is an annual charity running and walking event that started in 2017. This year it will be a virtual event throughout November that anyone from around the world can join, as well as an in-person event on Sunday, November 10 by the Tama River in Futakotamagawa, Tokyo.
Aim to achieve a running or walking distance of at least 55km (1.8km or 2,400 steps a day) in November. If you join the event on November 10, you can choose to run a half marathon, 10km, parent-child 5km run, or simply walk.
For both events, you’ll also be entered into a raffle for some amazing prizes.
Entry and donations
This year, KIWL’s chosen charity is Mirai no Mori, an NPO that creates life-changing outdoor programs for abused, neglected, and orphaned youths in Japan, supporting their growth into happy and successful young adults.
The event on November 10 varies in price from ¥3,000 to ¥5,000. Register here in Japanese or contact ecomarathon@runningintokyo.com for English-language assistance.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.- 23 m from Futakotamagawa Station Tōkyū Den-en-toshi Line (DT7)Tōkyū Ōimachi Line (OM15)
