This show at the National Art Center Tokyo covers this wide swathe of Japanese popular culture from 1989 until today.
The exhibition is divided into 8 sections. These are entitled ‘Contemporary Heroes and Heroines’, ‘“Reality” as Depicted by Technology: The World of Works and Visual Expression’, ‘The Fruits of a Network Society’, ‘Encounters and Gatherings: Games as “Places”’, ‘The World: A Place Where Characters Dwell’, ‘The Intersection of the Ordinary and Extraordinary’, ‘A Link to Reality’ and ‘The Creator’s Handiwork’
Admission is 1,000yen for adults (800yen if purchased in advance) and 500yen for University students and below (300yen in advance).
