What to expect
This exhibition delves into the intricate artistry of manga creators Mori Kaoru (Emma, Otoyomegatari) and Irie Aki (Ran to Haiiro no Sekai, Kitakitasei ni Kumo to Yuke), offering a rare look at their creative journeys.
Alongside original drawings and illustrations, the displays include works from their days of doujinshi — self-published manga often created for niche audiences or as fan works — highlighting their roots in independent storytelling. Visitors can also explore creative notes, personal desks, and interviews, uncovering the process behind their beautifully hand-drawn worlds.

The exhibition runs until February 24, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Last admission is 5:30 p.m.
The museum is closed every Monday, except when Monday is a public holiday. In that case, the museum will close the following day.
Tickets
Tickets cost ¥1,000 each. Elementary and junior high school student tickets cost ¥300. You can purchase tickets online.
How to get there
The exhibition takes place at the Setagaya Literary Museum. From Shinjuku Station, take the Keio Line. Get off at Roka-kōen Station (19 minutes, 8 stops). The museum is a 5-minute walk away.
