Marine Day is a somewhat new only-in-Japan holiday to celebrate the ocean. Maybe an island country does have the right to celebrate the ocean twice as much as others. While many hit the beach and kick off the start of summer, Odaiba also has a special event you can enjoy.
For the Marine Day Lantern Festival, volunteers set out hundreds of paper lanterns in bright, fancy designs. With the Rainbow Bridge in the background, it makes for a real Instagram-worthy sight.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, many events have been canceled. Always check official sites before heading to an event.Tokyo's Best Events and Cultural Activities in Your Inbox Every Week
