Meet Me Here is a two-part Risograph exhibition showing work from artists who have met through comics and other printed media in Japan. Every November, artists from Japan and around the world gather for comic art events, bringing a vibrant and talented group of storytellers together in Tokyo. Some of these comic art shows are not happening this year so the idea for Meet Me Here was born from the desire to fill the void they’ve left.
The team have gathered these artists again along with others to celebrate how printed media, storytelling and the great lengths we take to share our work brings people together. Risograph was chosen because it’s a beautiful and accessible printed medium that originates from Japan and which unites artists from around the world. Risograph techniques vary person to person and showcasing someone’s Riso work means showcasing both their artistic style and printing technique, which gives each print it’s own exciting personality.
