BMI, the music company, is the host of many of the events held in Yoyogi park and it does this presumably to promote its extensive interests in Asian pop music. Part of the reason it hosts so many Thai festivals around Tokyo and particularly in Yoyogi park – you’ll recognise them if you’re a regular reader – would appear to be due to the many Thai pop groups on its books. So if you’re a fan of, or interested in finding out about, Thai music, pop along to this event. Although it’s named the Thai Grammy Awards, there will also be awards for the top ten acts from Laos and Myanmar, as well. Expect food and drink stalls to be available and the event will take place, rain or shine.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.Mar 19
