Catch the Tokyo International Players performing theater in its purest form — a staged English reading of Lauren Yee’s “In a Word,” directed by Brian Berdanier.
What to expect
In a Word tells the story of Fiona’s son, who has been missing for the past two years. Nothing about it makes sense and the people around her just add to her confusion. The Tokyo International Players present this absurdist performance through a staged reading. Enjoy the minimalist presentation as you weave your way through the tale.
You can catch a performance on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7 p.m. But if you’re a real thespian, don’t miss the Saturday-only matinee shows at 3 p.m. Not only are they perfect for pre-dinner entertainment, but they’ll have a Q&A session afterward too.
