Too Hot to Be Cool is a regular series of gigs raising money for important climate change charities worldwide. Bringing together rock and indie bands from around Tokyo, their previous sold-out events have raised money for such charities as WWF Japan, For the Future Philippines, and Green Youth Thailand.

For its 9th edition, Tokyo charity rock series Too Hot to Be Cool is taking its show outdoors to Zaimokuza Beach in Kamakura.
Eight live acts spanning garage, surf, punk, funk rock and pop rock take the stage, plus DJs, MCs, and live painting throughout the afternoon. The venue has six bars and restaurants under one roof, and every ticket includes a guaranteed seat at a table and a wristband to move freely between the music area and the beach.
100% of ticket proceeds go to Mangrove Matters PH, a youth-led NPO restoring coastal forests in the Philippines.
Tickets
Event tickets can be bought both in advance and on the door. Online tickets will be ¥3,000. Tickets on the door will cost ¥4,000. If you’re under 27, you can pick up a youth ticket for ¥2,000, and under-16 tickets are ¥1,000.
How to get there
Depending on your departure station in Tokyo, getting down to Kamakura from Tokyo takes about an hour and costs between up to ¥950 one-way. Both JR Shōnan–Shinjuku and JR Yokosuka line trains can take you there direct. From Kamakura Station (East Exit), take the #40 bus and ride for around 6 minutes. Get off at Kuhonji bus stop to access the beach area.
