Ōme Plum Park is one of the furthest parks for plum blossoms that still counts as being within Tokyo. Called Umeno Park on the maps, it's filled with plum blossoms at the end of winter. It is known for holding the Yoshino Baigō Plum Blossom Festival. The park is home to around 1200 plum trees, which bloom in brilliant pinks and reds at the end of winter and into early spring. In 2014, the park's plum trees were all felled due to a virus, but they were replanted soon after. As of now, they're still fairly small, but they bloom incredibly brightly! Getting there Ōme Plum Park is about an hour and a half from Shinjuku, right on the edge of Tokyo. We recommend taking the JR Chuo Line (which may become the JR Ōme Line), straight out to JR Ōme Station. From there, you can take the Ume 76 bus in the direction of Yoshino; get off at the "Yoshino-Bairin" stop.
