Renovated for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the park hosted the Tennis competition for the games.
Home to the 10,000 capacity Ariake Coliseum, which is one of the few professional tennis venues in Japan with a retractable roof, the venue hosts the Japan Open Tennis Championships as well as the Toray Pan Pacific Open.
Around the stadium are 48 tennis courts which can be rented by the hour. Popular with joggers and picnickers, the park is filled with cherry blossom in spring and azaleas in early summer.
