Opening in March 2025, Hyper Museum Hanno is a new contemporary art museum set in the forests and lakes of Metsä Village in Saitama. It’s aiming to do things a little differently by blending nature, digital technology, and character art.
The museum will feature both indoor and outdoor installations, taking advantage of its lakeside setting. Future exhibitions will focus on “character art”, with works from artists like Junaida, Kazuki Takakura, Emi Kusano, and Sebastian Masuda.
The opening exhibition is Ship’s Cat Island by artist Kenji Yanobe, known for his massive sculptures with a sci-fi, pop-art feel.
