Nihonbashi Takashimaya Department Store

Housed in an historic pre-war building, Nihonbashi Takashimaya is one of Japan’s most prestigious department stores.

These days, the department store is styled in English as “Nihonbashi Takashimaya Shopping Center”. To foreign visitors this makes a lot of sense as most of the brands within Takashimaya have separate shops and appear to operate independently.

Takashimaya has also expanded into surrounding buildings, so it feels more like a precinct rather than a single store.
