Hosting the first ever Olympic surfing competition, Tsurigasaki beach in Chiba is a sandy stretch with world-class waves. Over 600,000 surfers head to this beach every year and that’s only expected to increase following the games.

The area around the beach has been fenced off, so unless you’ve got media or official accreditation, it won’t be possible to get a sneaky look at the surfing.

The venue is a 30 minute walk, or a 6 minute taxi ride from Torami Station on the JR Sotobo Line.
