Beachside fireworks await only 90 minutes from central Tokyo.
What happens?
Every summer, Chigasaki’s shoreline lights up. The Southern Beach Chigasaki Fireworks Festival is best known for its suichū kujaku — underwater peacock fireworks that fan out just above the sea surface like glowing tail feathers. These are paired with starmine displays: rapid-fire bursts of color launched in succession to create a shimmering wall of light across the night sky.
Schedule 2025
The fireworks take place on August 2 from 7:30 p.m. The display will last around 40 minutes, concluding at 8:10 p.m.
However, this is subject to change based on weather conditions.
