The fall edition of Design Festa (Vol. 56) will be held in mid-November at Tokyo Big Sight—one of the number of enormous buildings in Odaiba that looks like an alien landing craft.
Founded in 1994, Design Festa started out as a small gathering of artists hoping to create a space where anyone could express themselves, regardless of genre, profession, age, gender, or nationality. Now approaching its 54th installment, the number of artists exhibiting at Design Festa had reached over 15,000 (pre-COVID), but 2,500 are expected for this edition.
This installment of Design Festa will also feature live painting artists, creating artworks on huge 8m x 3.5m canvases before your very eyes over the course of the two-day event. Afterwards, check out the expanded Workshop area, where you can create your own one-of-a-kind artwork.
If you need a break, grab a quick bite to eat at one of the food trucks or cafes in the Food Area, then check out the Performance Area and Show Stage to see everything from fashion shows to live dance and music performances.
The event runs from 11am to 7pm on both the Saturday and Sunday. Closest stations are Kokusai Tenjijo on the Yurikamome Line and Tokyo Teleport on the JR Rinkai Line.
