2020 has been a strange year full of changes and uncertainties. Through her new illustration series—Engimono—Erica Ward hopes to channel positive energy by collecting images of Japanese ‘engimono,’ symbols of luck and celebration, and combining them with imagery of Tokyo, our urban environment.

About the Artist: Erica Ward is a California-born, Tokyo-based artist and illustrator. Her illustrations often incorporate Japanese imagery and combine soft watercolor realism with pen-outlined pop style.
