Erica Ward Solo Exhibition: Miyabori

1:00pm – 7:00pm
Free

Erica Ward is a California-native artist living in Tokyo. Her detailed Japan-inspired works of watercolor and ink combine the mundane and the surreal.

What to expect

Miyabori are the intricate wood carvings seen on the pillars and walls at shrines and temples. The creative series presented at this solo exhibition uses miyabori motifs to ask the viewer to contemplate the objects we may be taking for granted in our daily lives.

All new artworks will be on display and for sale during the exhibition, along with a selection of prints, stickers, and illustration books.

In this one-hour workshop, you'll learn the delicate art of gold repair, and create your own unique souvenir to take home. You'll even dress in samue, the traditional outfit of craftsmen.
