Frozen Strings is a special solo exhibition by artist and spatial designer Hisaya Kumano.
What to expect
Kumano displaces plants from their natural settings to recreate spaces—both indoors and out—where their life-light can shine anew. Blending floral art, music, video, and light, this three-day exhibition invites you into a dream-like space, revealing the mysteries of nature and human imagination.
Born in Osaka in 1975, Kumano combines a background in painting, fashion, and ikebana (the Japanese art of flower arranging) into a unique visual practice. His large-scale floral installations and multi-sensory works have been shown domestically and internationally.
How to get there
The exhibition is held at Plat Shibuya, a 6-minute walk from Meiji-jingumae ‘Harajuku’ Station on the Chiyoda Line and JR Harajuku Station.
