The Kabuki Print Exhibition at the Seikado Bunko Art Museum delves into the history of ukiyo-e.
What to expect
The Kabuki Print Exhibition explores how the iconic art form of ukiyo-e developed over time by using woodblock prints of kabuki performers. Visitors can walk through the slow evolution of simple prints and into complex ukiyo-e, with the backdrop of the feudal period and the early Meiji era. This exhibit will feature a wide array of prints by the prolific ukiyo-e artist Kunisada, as well as the first public display of a print from one of his disciples.
Tickets
Tickets to the exhibition cost ¥1,500 for adults, and ¥1,000 for students. Disabled visitors enter for ¥700 and may bring another person with them.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
