Test your hand and tastebuds at the 10th Kakuuchi Liquor Festival in Ueno. Try everything from shochu (Japanese spirits) to beer, with snacks to match.
What to expect
The Kakuuchi Liquor Festival is named that way for the way the drinks are served. If you’d like a drink or snack, you use the kaku-uchi system — exchanging a token for a small cup of alcohol or snack. It’s a great way to try something new or unfamiliar without having to commit to a whole bottle (and perhaps find a new favorite nightcap on your last token gamble).
Find stalls dedicated to drinking snacks, like cheese, nuts, and light bites. The event stage will also host a mix of live performers for you to unwind with a sip of your sake.
Tickets
Tickets to enter the Kakuuchi Liquor Festival cost ¥500, and can be bought in advance or at the venue. You’ll also need to buy tickets for the food and drink, or a package deal in advance. The event page offers an entry and 11 ticket deal for ¥3,500
