Come spring, Miura Kaigan is awash with pink. But summer? It’s all about the fireworks.
What happens?
To celebrate 70 years since Miura City’s official founding, this year’s Miura Kaigan Nōryō Matsuri Fireworks Festival promises an extra special atmosphere. Now in its 45th edition, the event draws visitors to the beach for a spectacular half-hour of fireworks that light up the twilight sky over Sagami Bay.
Schedule 2025
The fireworks take place on Thursday, August 7 from 7:30 to 8 p.m. In case of bad weather, the event will be canceled.
How to get there
From Shibuya Station, take the Shōnan–Shinjuku Line Line to Yokohama, then switch to the Keikyū Main Line and alight at Miurakaigan Station (the last stop). You’ll want to make sure to catch the Limited Express or Rapid-Limited Express for the quickest ride.
Miura Beach is about 10 minutes from Miurakaigan Station on foot. The entire journey should take around 90 minutes.
Pro tip: Get this discount ticket and explore more of the peninsula for less.
