Outside of a festival context, Tokyo isn’t known for having a strong late-night street food culture compared to cities like Taipei or Bangkok. The Miura Night Market offers a taste of something different, and it’s easily accessible from central Tokyo.
What happens?
Once a year, Misaki’s old-school shopping street in Miura City turns into a night market with a panoply of food stalls. Maguro or tuna is the town’s claim to fame, and no doubt there will be plenty of seafood to go around, plus snacks, drinks, and family-friendly games.
How to get there
From Shibuya Station, take the Shōnan–Shinjuku Line to Yokohama. There, change to the Keikyū Main Line and ride until Keikyū Kurihama. Switch to the Keikyū Kurihama Line headed for Misakiguchi. Hop on a limited express train to save time.
From Keikyū Misakiguchi Station, take a bus bound for Misaki Port, Jōgashima, or Tōriya. Ride about 20 minutes and get off at Misaki Port, then walk one minute to the venue, Misaki Shitamachi Shopping Street.
Pro tip: Keikyū offers a discount day trip ticket to the peninsula (around ¥3,770). It includes a seafood lunch and discounts on activities in the area.
