Every month the Nerd Nite team gather 3 smart speakers and a curious crowd. In October, they’re taking an eclectic journey from the stars to our internal organs, with a stop in the world of literature. “We are stardust”, but what does this mean in terms of physics? How can we understand and treat a disease that is widespread but largely unknown? And sex scenes in fiction can be hilarious and horrible — why is it so hard to get it right?
This month’s speakers:
Evan Fallenberg — Sex on the Page: How Writers Deal with Writing the Sex Scene
Fahrettin Haczeyni — Foie Gras: Protecting the Liver from a Silent Disease
Sarah Naimi — We Are Stardust: A Nuclear Physicist Explains What It Really Means
Drinks (both alcoholic and non) and food from Tiny Peace Kitchen will be available. Eat, drink and be square-y! Kids are also welcome at Nerd Nite. The show starts at 8pm but doors open half an hour before – head in early to get a good seat!
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.Add to Calendar
