Sanrio Puroland Halloween

Sanrio Puroland spends autumn as a monster den, with Hello Kitty and friends in fuzzy costumes, a 360-degree live show, and a haunted version of the boat ride.

What happens?

This year’s Halloween season at Sanrio Puroland runs from September 11 to November 3, and it arrives with a new name and a new theme — Puro Monster Scramble, styled PUROMONSTERSCRAMBLE on the park’s own signage. The witches and wizards of previous years have been retired.

Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, and Badtz-Maru all turn up in fluffy monster outfits, and visitors are encouraged to dress up too. A monster detection gate in front of the Entertainment Hall on the first floor judges how convincing your costume is.

The park is closed on September 16 and 17, and again on October 21 and 22.

The main show

Puro Monster Scramble Party is a 360-degree immersive live show in the Entertainment Hall on the first floor, running about 20 minutes. It is all-standing, and the special guest is Labubu, the sharp-eared sprite from Pop Mart’s The Monsters range.

A 10-minute warm-up set, Puro Monster Scramble DJ Time, runs before each party, four times a day, with one character per session — Hello Kitty, then Badtz-Maru, then Cinnamoroll, then Kuromi. Labubu does not appear in those.

Doors to the hall open 45 minutes before the first DJ set, and you queue outside until then. A Puropass for the reserved standing area costs ¥3,000, but it is sold through Lawson Ticket in advance only — there are none on sale at the park on the day.

The haunted boat ride

The Sanrio Character Boat Ride switches to a horror version, noroware piero (cursed clowns), on September 11 and then on weekends and holidays until November 3. You ride as part of an investigation team hunting three clowns said to curse anyone who sees them three times.

It starts from 4 p.m. on the days it runs, and the regular version is suspended while it is on. Only visitors of junior high school age and above can board, so younger children will have to sit this one out.

Labubu at Puroland

Beyond the guest slot in the show, the Labubu collaboration brings a range of limited-edition goods to the Entrance Shop on the third floor.

There is also a collaboration parfait — almond jelly with peach sauce, whipped cream, and strawberry sauce — for ¥1,000 at the Character Food Court on the first floor.

Tickets

Tickets for Sanrio Puroland are dated, and the price moves day by day. Weekends and public holidays cost the most, while midweek Tuesdays and Thursdays are the cheapest days to go.

Across the Halloween period, a day passport is ¥3,900 to ¥6,900 for adults, and ¥2,800 to ¥5,800 for children and seniors.

An afternoon passport, which gets you in from 2 p.m., is ¥2,800 to ¥4,600 for adults, and ¥2,500 to ¥4,300 for children and seniors.

Adult rates cover ages 18 to 64, child rates ages 3 to 17, and senior rates 65 and over. Children under 3 go free.

Important: a passport on its own is not enough — you also need a visit reservation for the day, or you will be turned away at the gate. Opening hours shift with the date as well, generally starting between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. and finishing at 5 p.m. or 6 p.m., so check the official calendar before you set off.

Spooky Pumpkin 2026

The park’s all-night Halloween party, Spooky Pumpkin, falls on Saturday, October 31. Doors open at 9:30 p.m., the party starts at 10 p.m., and it winds up at 5 a.m.

More than 70 acts are on the bill across several stages, among them Scha Dara Parr, Wednesday Campanella, Ayaka Sasaki of Momoiro Clover Z, Novel Core, Aile The Shota, Daoko, Pasocon Music Club, and Pas Tasta. DJ Hello Kitty and DJ Kuromi both play sets.

This is a separate ticket from a park passport: ¥13,800 in advance, or ¥14,800 on the day. The second presale lottery is open until September 23, and general sales start at 10 a.m. on October 3.

You have to be 20 or over to attend, and photo ID is checked at the entrance from 9 p.m. Without it you will not be let in, whatever the reason.
