This festival, also known as the “Setagaya Pan Matsuri” (subtitled La Fête Du Pain Setagaya) is a celebration of this Western staple to which Japan has taken a liking.
What happens?
Since 2011, when the first edition was held, the Setagaya Bread Festival has only grown from strength to strength.
There is a massive bread market featuring bakeries from all over Japan, and typically musical entertainment, a stamp rally and more.
In 2025, a total of 253 stores participated over two days, and approximately 60,000 visitors trekked over to buy breads of all varieties, according to the organizers.
How to get there
The main venue is Home/Work Village, a former elementary school that was renovated into a hybrid community and commercial space, in Setagaya Park. It is located a 10-minute walk from Ikejiri-Ōhashi Station or a 13-minute walk from Sangenjaya Station.
