Shimbashi Koichi Festival

12:00pm – 9:00pm
Free

The Shimbashi Koichi festival contains a whole array of entertainment including taiko drummers, traditional dancers, local bands and some more unusual options too. The main events are the bon odori square and the Yukata Beauty Contest, which doesn’t feature a swimsuit round but does have an interview (hurray!). The winner receives a cash prize and trip to Hawaii, so the stakes are high!

Due to the Olympics this event was scheduled to take place in September for 2021, but all in-person activities have been canceled due to COVID-19. It is expected to return to summer in 2022.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, many events have been canceled. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
