Shinjuku Central (Chuo) Park lights up in winter for a family-friendly illumination display that’s worth a look if you happen to be in the area. Also check out, Nishi-Shinjuku Illumination Market nearby, which includes food trucks.
What happens?
Every evening for around a month, Shinjuku Central Park is lit up with thousands of LED lights, glowing beasties, and other types of installations. These illuminations are a lot more low-key than other parts of Tokyo but are perfect for kids — who will love trying to spot the glowing dogs, cats, bunnies, and other creatures in the bushes.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.Add to Calendar
